The observations, surveys, and interviews were the instruments used as the main source of data collection. ![]() The populations under study were seventh-grade students at Guillermo Leon Valencia School which participated for over 8 weeks. Los hallazgos de esta investigación sugirieron la importancia de incorporar técnicas de lectura al programa de inglés para mejorar la comprensión lectora en los estudiantes, además de hacer de la comprensión lectora en una segunda lengua un proceso autónomo. El análisis de los datos reveló que la lectura era un proceso muy complejo, por lo que este proyecto buscó comprender los aportes de las técnicas de skimming y scanning en el desarrollo de la comprensión lectora en alumnos de séptimo grado de la Escuela Guillermo León Valencia. Las observaciones, encuestas y entrevistas fueron los instrumentos utilizados como principal fuente de recolección de datos. Las poblaciones objeto de estudio fueron estudiantes de séptimo grado del Colegio Guillermo León Valencia que participaron durante más de 8 semanas.
